Officially waiting for Book 2
It has been years since I’ve been able to simply sit down and read a book.
Somewhere along the way, my reading became case files, legislation, reports, and briefing books. I missed getting lost in a great story.
Then I picked up Visions: The Mark by Kathleen Gallaway.
As a fellow New Mexican, I especially loved that it’s written by a New Mexico author and set right here in our beautiful state. It made the story feel even more real.
From the first few chapters, I was hooked. The writing is so vivid and detailed that it felt less like I was reading and more like I was watching the story unfold. It’s one of those rare books you keep telling yourself you’ll put down after “just one more chapter”… and then suddenly it’s midnight.
If you’re looking for a book that pulls you in and doesn’t let go, I highly recommend Visions: The Mark. I found it on Amazon.

I’m never sure about new authors, but this book was really great. I can’t wait for the sequel. I really liked that the hero was an ordinary teacher rather than the usual stereotypes. The book features a compelling premise, ordinary people, and a dash of the paranormal—you can’t get more New Mexican than that. Highly recommend.

Suspenseful! Leaves you wanting more…
“The Mark” starts with intrigue, but very quickly becomes one of those stories you can’t stop thinking about even after you put it down for the night. Kathleen Gallaway created characters that feel real and emotionally layered, and the suspense keeps building chapter after chapter.
What I loved most was how the story blended mystery, emotion, and spiritual depth without feeling forced. There were moments that genuinely gave me chills, and other moments that made me stop and reflect on the deeper meaning behind the story. The atmosphere throughout the book is intense, haunting, and beautifully written.

Gotta Have More!
I definitely became invested in Kate and her life. I was drawn right into her plight and could almost put myself in her shoes. Her husband’s “work” was extremely well portrayed and had me wondering about how much really happens that we overlook. The worst part of the book?….it ended and I still want more. That’s a great sign for a book series!

Kathleen Gallaway was born in Alaska but found her lifelong home in New Mexico. For 39 years—primarily in southeastern New Mexico—she devoted her career to education, first as a secondary mathematics teacher and later as an administrator at multiple levels. More than twenty years ago, Kathleen wrote the manuscript for this book. After decades spent encouraging others to chase their goals, she decided it was finally time to pursue one of her own and bring this story to readers.
Kathleen lives in a rural community in southeastern New Mexico. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys spending time with family, cheering on her grandchildren in their activities, working in her yard, and escaping to the mountains whenever she can.
